Q: What is your nickname in the clubhouse?
A: H2R
Q: Who was the biggest help to you going to the major leagues?
A: MY FAMILY’S SUPPORT WAS ALWAYS THE MAIN FACTOR AND WHAT GAVE ME STRENGTH. I WANTED TO GIVE THEM A BETTER LIFE.
Q: What were you feeling when you heard you had been voted to start the all-star team?
A:I WAS SHOCKED, BUT SO HAPPY AND PROUD. IT BROUGHT ME MEMORIES OF ALL THE SACRIFICES THAT I WENT THROUGH TO GET TO THIS POINT.
Q: What did you do to celebrate the 4th of July? Did you watch some fireworks?
A:WE WERE PLAYING AT DENVER, SO I DIDN’T HAVE A CHANCE TO DO ANYTHING.

hi hanley, my name is ryan and i have been a marlins fan my entire life and admire you the most. my question is have you even had a distraction in your life where you thought of giving up on baseball or rethink your life? the reason i ask is because i was diagnosed with a disease in both of my legs that have put my baseball future in doubt. i am expected to make a full recovery but baseball may be too late. i am frustrated and wanted to know if you had any advice or have ever felt the way i have. i know i will play baseball agian as i have been making progress, but i had a bright future in baseball and lost a lot of my speed and because of the injury, so i just wanted to say that i admire you so much and thank you for being a hero that i look up to. i also play shortstop and am very impressed with your skills as you will always be my favorite player
