The game lasted much longer than expected, but in the end the American League left New York city with both a 4-3 win in 15 innings and home field advantage for this fall’s World Series.
Hanley and his fellow National League All-Stars put up a valiant effort, going run for run with the AL until a streak of great defense prevented a run to be scored for over six innings as the night got old.
Hanley went 2 for 3 with a run scored in the sixth inning after singling and being bumped to third by the Phillies’ Chase Utley. He scored on a Lance Berkman sacrifice fly.
Congratulations to both Hanley and all of the MLB All-Stars on the amazing spectacle they put on for all fans.
