Make Hanley an All-Star starter again

For now, Hanley Ramirez is known as a two-time All-Star. It’s just a matter of time before he wears the “perennial” label.

Established as one of the top players in the game, Ramirez is the defending National League batting champion. The 26-year-old also has won successive Silver Slugger Awards for NL shortstops. And a year ago, he was the runner-up to Albert Pujols in the MVP voting.

In the eyes of fans, Ramirez is the elite shortstop among National Leaguers at the position. For two straight years, the Dominican Republic native has been voted in by fans as the NL starting shortstop in the All-Star Game.

Many believe Ramirez will be a frequent visitor to the Midsummer Classic before his career is over.

Time is quickly approaching for the voting to begin for the 2010 All-Star Game, to be held on July 13 in Anaheim.

Ramirez is one of eight Marlins position players on the ballot.

Fans can cast their votes for starters up to 25 times at MLB.com and all 30 club sites using the 2010 All-Star Game MLB.com Ballot Sponsored by Sprint until July 1 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
